
Bill Hope

William (“Bill”) Hope worked in Operations Research and IT for the Australian State Energy Commission and Alcoa before moving to the UK to work for British Aerospace on their space programs. He subsequently joined the Australian Satellite System (Aussat). In 1989 Bill was given overall responsibility for Aussat space systems. After Optus purchased Aussat, he took on various roles in the new telecommunications company and became CTO in 1997. Bill joined Singtel in 2000 as EVP Networks based in Singapore. After Singtel purchased Optus in 2002, he added the role of Managing Director Networks Optus with overall responsibility for Australian and Singapore network activities. Bill supported Singtel’s overseas subsidiaries through 2007 in Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, and India, and was Singtel’s Director in Taiwan serving on the Board of telecommunication carrier New Century Infocomm Tech. Subsequently he has undertaken aerospace and telecommunications consultancies and four Board Director positions.
